| 177897225 | 7 days ago | Hello #Uber, There are no sidewalks along Lake Shore Boulevard West other than what is already mapped. Please do not map narrow paved verges as sidewalks. They are not designed as sidewalks and not safe as sidewalks. Here is what the road looks like now. The verge is covered with half a metre of snow. Can you see the sidewalks that you added? https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Lake_Shore_Boulevard_West_west_of_Ontario_Drive,_looking_east,_February_2026_01.jpg

10 days ago | FWIW, I looked at Bruce Trail website to see if I could figure out the intended trail routing in here, but the full maps require payment, and I couldn't see any detail in the preview maps.
11 days ago | Hi, Do you know what is the meaning of trunk=1 and trunk=2 tags? It hasn't been used in OSM before and I would like to document it
| 176869174 | 14 days ago | We have a government that is very pro-car. They publicized tree-clearing and survey drilling contracts for planned highways:
If they actually begun building the actual highway, we'd be hearing about it for days. They haven't... |
14 days ago | "It should begin in 2026" means that it hasn't yet begun, correct?
15 days ago | Hello, Roads should be set to highway=construction once construction has begun. Has construction begun? I have not seen any news about this, latest I could see is a tree clearing contract in late 2024. Can you share a link or a picture of the construction?
16 days ago | The other alternative would be to tag motorway_link to the last spot where not going on the freeway is possible, but that is all the way up at Bloor/Drumsnab (if you get on the ramp at Bloor, you _are_ going on the freeway, there's no other way except for the blocked-off service ways). That was tagged in the past, but removed by jamaps in 2020, I don't feel strongly enough to restore that
29 days ago | Hello, Please do not add legal descriptions as laneway names in Toronto. See osm.wiki/Toronto#Laneways
about 1 month ago | Yeah, and we mapped the bus stops node/13228866246/history/1 but it's not an active train station, so no railway=station
about 1 month ago | Hello, FYI I am discussing this edit on the community forum: https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/mapping-lanes-separated-by-tram-platform-as-separate-ways/140095

about 2 months ago | Hey Danny, thanks building up the sidewalks and improving the alignments! When adding sidewalks like way/1459719351, it would be good to also update roadways like way/35350684 to have sidewalk:both=separate (or sidewalk:left/sidewalk:right=* if sidewalk is only on one side). I also encourage you to add is_sidepath:of:name=* tag to the sidewalk way, so that the street name can be used when routing pedestrians :) see way/1444277024 for an example
about 2 months ago | Hey GrannySmugg, thanks for the edits to sidewalks and crossings! When adding sidewalks like way/1459700663 please also make sure to update roadways like way/299599352 to have sidewalk:both=separate (or sidewalk:left/sidewalk:right if sidewalk is only on one side). I also encourage you to add is_sidepath:of:name tag to the sidewalk way, so that the street name can be used when routing pedestrians :) see way/1204449694 for an example
about 2 months ago | Hi anotherToad, just letting you know if you haven't seen, we're discussing road classification (including of Yonge Street) in https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/southern-ontario-road-classification-ongoing-thread/139281 - please join in!
about 2 months ago | Oops, sorry, I see now that "Sette Productions" came from a much older changeset. However it remains the case that it was in the wrong place for its address (even numbers are north side of the street), and 148 Yorkville has actually been razed for redevelopment since node/4462028723/history/1 was added in 2016
about 2 months ago | hey, thanks. is there a pedestrian crossing too?
about 2 months ago | Hey Nate, when adding sidewalks like way/1457613663 please also make sure to update roadways like way/35797445 to have sidewalk:both=separate (or sidewalk:left/sidewalk:right if sidewalk is only on one side). I also encourage you to add is_sidepath:of:name tag to the sidewalk way, so that the street name can be used when routing :) see way/1444277024 for an example
about 2 months ago | Hi, I have started a thread in the forum for discussion on road classification in southern Ontario https://community.openstreetmap.org/t/southern-ontario-road-classification-ongoing-thread/139281 - we're starting to discuss what the criteria for primary vs secondary should be in cities. I wanted to invite you to participate as you've been editing road categories in Ontario. (You log into the forum with your OSM account, it's easy and doesn't require a separate signup)
about 2 months ago | Hello, Generally the usual way of tagging GO stations is that we have a node (or an area) representing the entire station, with station metadata like codes (e.g. ref:go_transit=LA), and then the station/ticket building can be separate and tagged just building=train_station. In this change, you made the station building the station, and deleted the station node node/88576501/history/8, losing the station codes and the consistency with other stations. Is there a particular reason?
