Changeset When Comment
178378677 2 days ago

Hello,
Firstly, thank you for contributing information to OSM, that is always highly appreciated.

However, I noticed that your changesets are usually if not always changing one or two elements, with the comment "minor changes"
Please do not do this, it gives absolutely no information on what the edit is.
Please *describe* what you changed. It doesn't need to be detailed, it could be e.g. "Updated hairdresser to standardised wikidata tag"

Secondly, bundle your changes into larger changesets.
changeset/178378677
changeset/178378585

Both of the above changes are tiny changes to the exact same element, including this changeset, all of these changes should have been in one changeset.
This is not to say that you cannot go back and fix mistakes, that is highly appreciated, but try to bundle your changes when you can.

Thank you and happy mapping!

Thank you for adding these places to OSM.
But watch out, you incorrectly renamed the kebab shop. The old name was correct, just the type was wrong.
I fixed that aswel as adding more info to the places you added in changeset/178356750

Are you sure about the power lines way/1476000059 way/1476000060 and way/1476000061?
When looking at panoramax images on the main road, I can only spot one of these.

Same comment as on changeset/177552825
also driveway geometry went through the building.
I noticed you are using Bing aerial for mapping, i suggest using the geoportail.lu images as they are much more up-to-date and higher resolution.
changed paths to driveway in changeset/177557156
Thank you for your contributions, and happy mapping!

to me, this looks like a driveway.

This is fair, Thank you @Kugelbaum for the history.
My concern still slightly remains of road signs not necessarily reflecting official names, but German names are unlikely to ever be seen as an official name considering the historical context.
In addition, it could be argued that official intent is less important then what is represented on the ground.

hey,
So on the hgv=yes : I agree, and i see your point. But i do not see the value in removing the tag where it's correct.
There is nothing wrong with removing these tags, I just question if this effort is better spent elsewhere. Especially since you are turning explicit data into implicit data

As for the name. I do not agree that there being no explicitly marked German name on the signs means that the German name isn't correct and officially recognised by the government.

E.G. for a long time, train stations such as esch-sur-alzette had only the french name marked. That does not mean that the Luxembourgish name wasn't correct, it was even vocally announced as 'Esch-Uelzecht' in the train.
Later, the Luxembourgish names were added to the signs too
https://www.chronicle.lu/category/rail/54039-luxembourgish-names-added-to-train-station-platform-signs

Whether the German names you are removing are correct or not is not clear to me.
Especially since the German and Luxembourgish names would be so close to each-other, that increasing the size of expensive road signs just to add both would be a giant waste of money.

I do not know how this could be verified. geoportail only shows the primary name of the road.

Great thank you. But In this case I would remove the address from the building and have the *entire* address to the entrances.
Also, watch out, you tagged the wrong entrance kind on the 10b entrance as entrance=staircase
I updated everything in changeset/177392238
Thank you and happy mapping!

Also, why are you removing german names from streets in all your changesets?

177378592 26 days ago

Why did you remove surface=paved and hgv=yes?
Additionally, you mention KeepRight in your changesets, that is no longer updated and should not be a source of information. according to osm.wiki/Keep_Right

Merci d'avoir ajouté ces données à OpenStreetMap.
Cependant, vous avez commis quelques erreurs dans votre ensemble de modifications :
- vous avez supprimé par inadvertance toutes les informations relatives à un itinéraire de bus TEC (corrigé dans changeset/177315564) ;

why did you mark way Val Sainte-Croix as one way?
Was this a mistake? if so, be more careful in the future
This has been reverted in changeset/177288966
If somehow i am wrong, do feel free to elaborate.

The building you mark as demolished, entirely no longer exists according to latest satellite images.
The building was removed in changeset/177277399

Thank you for adding these to the map, it is much appreciated.
BTW, to have cleaner data in the future:
1. you can right click on the element you are adding and click the square to ensure all sides are 90 degrees
2. Common features such as these usually have standardised tags.
in this case that would be:
amenity=parcel_locker
brand=POST Luxembourg
brand:wikidata=Q1570910
opening_hours=24/7 (since it's a 24/7 packup)
operator=POST Luxembourg
if you're curious, you can see how it is tagged now.

I realise it may be a lot, but these are just tips. What you added was perfectly good too.
Hope to see more edits by you in the future, cheers.
