BTW, if you like rivers, you may like my site WaterwayMap.org: https://waterwaymap.org/ or the River Database: <https://waterwaymap.org/river/> which is how I noticed this break in the names

PS: I'm Irish.

Hello there!
I notice here that you have extendeded the Shannon to flow much father into the Atlantic than before. Specifically this way ( way/1446958027#map=12/52.5283/-9.8407). But there's an unnamed gap upstream of that <way/1446958026#map=13/52.57383/-9.70054>. So the whole Shannon river name is interrupted. I also notice that you have extended the Feale to join the Shannon <way/1446958030#map=14/52.52001/-9.71398>.

I think this is all a bit strech to say that the Feale is a tributary of the Shannon... I know the end point of the shannon is contested, but I think this is a bit of a strech. 🙂

I hope you don't mind, but I've brought the shannon back a bit in <changeset/174153725#map=11/52.5749/-9.6471>

I know about needing to split ways (I wrote a post-processing tool to put them back together `osm-lump-ways`) 😉

What do you think about the wiki's description of rapids, compared to your use? Which of you are correct? 🙂🙂

124661563 12 months ago

In this changeset, way/1084947854 is tagged as `waterway=rapids`. However is that right? The wiki says a a rapid should be drawn across the river, like weir¹. I noticed this item because it causes the McKenzie River to be split on WaterwayMap.org². The source of this WWM change is this commit c925507³

¹ waterway=rapids

Here you added a tiny tiny river, called “Tom's River” <way/747887033/history/1>. Is that a real river?

Here, you changed the `name` of a river segment (way/358219216) from `Clare River` to `Annagh River`.

However, I'm looking at the OS 1st. Ed. (& 2nd) for Lim. & Tipp., and in all 4 that segment is named “Clare River”. The river segments around that way are also still tagged `name=Clare River` in OSM.

Is this _really_ called Annagh River? If I was mapping this myself, I would have used Clare River for it all. But I won't change it now.

Ich würde es einfach lassen, aber wenn jemand will dieses Fitnesscentre für ein paar Wochen eintrage, habe ich kein Problem

157368164 over 1 year ago

Hiya! You changed the tag of the tunnel from waterway=channel → =canal.

That means it won't show up on lots of the WaterwayMap.org views as not flowing water. (because canal).

Since it's a tunnel isn't there other things, like pressurised which are better tags?

Thanks. 🙂

@mueschel Thanks for spotting that! I've fixed that in changeset/154012665

I had considered making a preset for “logainm based name” stuff, and this sort of simple typo is a reason to do that!

Oops! Every time! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Gods, I need to do a JOSM plugin to stop myself

Hiya! FYI I think you've created a loop in the streams. You can see loops here: <https://waterwaymap.org/loops#map=14.84/53.93014/-7.15049>. In this changeset, you added a few `waterway=stream` and that made a loop. I think it's the northern half of the loop in that link.

I'm not sure what to do. Are you sure all the directions of the ways is correct? Maybe we can figure out if some/one is pointing the wrong way. Are these things `=stream`'s or `=ditch`'s 🤔

146798420 about 2 years ago

Thanks for using my waterwaymap loop detection! You left a little double mapped stream, which caused another loop, and I've removed it here changeset/147252471

It's great to see more people keeping an eye on these loops. 👍

Sorry! Ah damn it! It happened again! That was my mistake. Sorry.

last time: changeset/143218439#map=4/40.25/16.65

Do you know if I can make JOSM stop me from doing that?
